1970’s John Delvin Navajo Vintage Kingman Turquoise and Coral Sterling Silver Ring. This a stunning Native American handmade vintage ring by renown master Navajo artist silversmith John Delvin. This solid sterling silver ring features a detailed design of Eagle and Floral complemented by well preserved shiny Kingman Turquoise and Coral gemstones. The ring is visibly marked “Sterling D”. This is a 1970’s vintage ring hallmarked for John Delvin.
John Delvin, is a Navajo Silversmith renown for his pieces with Spiny Oyster cabochons. In the 1980’s he joined together with other members of the Navajo Arts and Crafts enterprise in Gallup, New Mexico to form manufacturer of hand made Native American jewelry.
Stone hammers found in the Mohave County, northwest of Kingman, AZ prove that Kingman turquoise was first mined by Native Americans as early as 600 a.d. Today, the Kingman turquoise is highly prized and sought after by collectors everywhere, and it’s one of the more easily recognized American Turquoises.
