1960′ Native American Natural Fox Turquoise Single Strand Necklace. This vintage necklace was made by Navajo jewelry designer with small turquoise stones kept in their natural form and beauty. Each turquoise stone is beautiful in its own way with some featuring lighter and darker turquoise colors. The turquoise stone nuggets are connected on string and finished with a sterling silver hook and eye closure.
The Fox turquoise mine is located near Lander County, Nevada. The mine was discovered in the mid 1900’s. This Navajo vintage necklace is a part of American Indian history. Such vintage necklaces were handmade by Navajo jewelry makers and mostly sold along side of the railroads to travelers exploring the west.
