American Eagle Southwestern Sterling Silver Bolo Tie. The simply elegant design of this vintage bolo tie transitions easily between casual and formal wear. The tall oval slide is trimmed with a fine gold twisted rope around silver filigree engraving from edge to edge with two floral flourishes placed opposite at the top and bottom. A gold figure of a Head of Eagle is applied to the center. The brown braided leather cord is nicely weighted with two silver arrow pointed tips.

Bolo Ties
After gaining popularity in the 1950s through 70s and becoming known as the “Western” tie, the state of Arizona made the bolo its official neckwear in 1971. New Mexico designated the bolo as the state’s official neckwear in 1987, but it wasn’t until 2007 that New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson signed the legislation.
